Roughly a dozen foster kids from the local area were treated to brand new shoes and hats, a kind gesture courtesy of the store. This was part of a collaborative effort between Unheardof and the company Group Home Masterminds. As Group Home Masterminds co-owner Jemone McIntosh explained, "We decided to create a program to assist others in opening group homes and providing loving homes for those in the foster care system." McIntosh further emphasized that resources for foster kids are often scarce. "I discovered that the need is extremely high, and these kids deserve a normal life just like everyone else," she said.

Unheardof owner Philip Lipschutz had a personal connection to the cause. "I've always been attentive and wanted to provide fresh sneakers for kids because I knew what it was like to go to school with worn-out shoes," he shared. For the staff at the shoe store and Group Home Masterminds, witnessing the kids' reactions made all the effort worthwhile. As Group Home Masterminds co-owner LiDairious Hafford put it, "They were excited, ecstatic actually. Not only did they get new shoes, but they could represent their city, the Bengals, with a hat to match. Now they're all set to go to the game."
